MONTESSORI LEARNING

Happy Campers Montessori is nestled on wooded acreage away from the busy areas of western Shawnee. When the weather is nice, you will find the children gardening or exploring nature outdoors.

Indoors, the classroom is run much like the early one-room schoolhouse, with blended ages together in the same room to enhance the joy of learning. Children are allowed to freely choose from a number of developmentally appropriate activities – learning at their own individual pace and according to their ability. Our Montessori approach emphasizes learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading. Therefore, learning is an exciting process of discovery, leading to concentration, motivation, self-discipline, and a love of learning.

Happy Campers accepts children from 18 months  through age 6.  

All of our teachers are certified Montessori teachers. Their emphasis is on fostering the best in each child and teaching each child according to their individual interests and strengths.
